Residents Club Winter League (2)

Following the announcement in last week’s Costa del Golf page, there have already been many enquiries from local businesses and bars, who have requested more information and entry forms. To recap for new readers, Golf Leisure Breaks is organising a winter league for resident golfers, which will comprise 12 rounds, to be played each Sunday between 26th. November – 25th. February. Teams of four will compete for the magnificent winners’ prize of 3 nights in 4* accommodation for four on the Portuguese Algarve, with two rounds of golf, to be presented at a Gala Presentation Dinner at “Crumps” restaurant on Saturday, 3rd. March. The entry fee is a one off payment of 20€ per team member, which will include the Gala Dinner. The league will take advantage of some special mid-season green fees, so that no round will cost more than approx 60€, except some of those which include a buggy, when the green fee may be slightly more. The first round will be hosted on Sunday 26th. November by the Royal Málaga Golf Club (the Parador to you!), with a green fee of just 58€. Other courses which will be hosting the league meetings will include Atalaya Park, Calanova, La Cala, La Cañada, MonteMayor, La Quinta, Sta. Maria etc. A full itinerary will be published soon. If the winter league is a success, a summer league is planned for 2007. In the meantime, information is being distributed in the Calahonda – Benalmadena area, but teams are welcome from any part of the Costa: venues are being selected from courses between Málaga and Sotogrande, so that all teams will be able to play a local course at least once.
