The Ladies’ European Tour qualifying school returned, following last year’s success. This year’s joint winners on 7-under-par were Claire Coughlan from Ireland and England’s Samantha Head, followed closely by Stacy Lee Bregman and Kiran Matharu (5 under par) and Stefanie Michl on 3 under par. All 5 secured full playing rights on the Ladies’ Tour. Samantha Head, has already won twice on the L.E.T. between 1995 & 2002. Ever the globe-trotter, she’s off to the States almost immediately, to try for her L.P.G.A. tour card.
La Cala earned praise from the competitors and from Andy Lott, the tour’s Director of Tournament Operations, who welcomed the qualifiers, saying they were worthy of their places on the full tour.
