WELL DONE, RORY!

By common consent, 19 year-old Rory McIlroy is currently the world’s best golfer, based on his present form. Even Mark O’Meara, one of Tiger Wood’s best friends, reckons that young Rory is better now than Tiger was at the same age. It must be said that there were times during the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic when it seemed that nerves would cost McIlroy his first European Tour title. But despite twice securing a 6 shot lead, on the final hole, when his lead over Justin Rose had melted to just one shot, the teenager held his nerve to rescue par and his first tour win. Perhaps part of his 323,000€ cheque will now be spent on a much needed haircut!
