JOIN THE CLUB!

Well, it’s not a club, exactly.  It’s a golf society. The GLB Golf Society, to be precise. Many of our readers spend a great deal of their time here on the Costa del Sol, but not enough to merit joining a golf club and paying an annual sub as well as a green fee. Membership of the GLB Golf Society is free, as is the gift of a society golf shirt, but offers many of the advantages of golf club membership, but none of the disadvantages. For example, members are not limited to playing the same golf course day after day. The society enjoys substantial discounts from the normal green fees and offers the opportunity to play in competitions regularly. Members can also enjoy similar discounts for themselves and guests at more than 50 golf courses along the coast, as well as others in Portugal’s Algarve, the Costa de la Luz, the Costa Brava, etc.. The society will be running winter and summer leagues and occasional weekend trips to other regions in Andalucia. For example, we recently took 30 members for a weekend’s golf to the Antequera Golf Hotel.  The cost to members for 2 nights half board, 2 rounds of golf (including shared buggy) and transport by coach, was a mere 174€! So you already belong to a local golf society? Shrewd golfers, looking for variety and economy often belong to more than one society.
