SO FAR, SO GOOD…

Generally speaking, the Costa del Golf has reacted well to the current economic circumstances and is being rewarded with an unexpected upturn in numbers on the fairways.  In many cases high season green fees have been reduced to a level which should have been in place two or three years ago, but the crucial question now is whether this will continue to be the case come next October, when the 2009 / 2010 high season begins. Even if the world emerges from recession sooner rather than later, the experience will have conditioned many people to spend their money more carefully, and golfers will probably not prove to be the exception. Also, they will have had the opportunity to discover what good value some of the less expensive courses offer – cheaper is not necessarily inferior. However, we are now entering golf’s summer season on the Costa and there are some wonderful bargains to be had between 21st May and the end of September. STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS

On Monday June 1st, while Santa María G.C. close nine holes for green maintenance, the Golf Leisure Breaks competition will be held at the Santana Golf Club. The green fee for entrants will be only 60€ including shared buggy (58€ for GLB Golf Society members). To enter, call 952 582 943.
