WELCOME BACK SEVE
Those of us who followed in the press and on TV news of Severiano Ballesteros’ fight for his life, feared that he might not survive the numerous operations to remove a tumour from his brain.  So it was a relief and a pleasure to witness recent interviews, in which Seve looked fit and was obviously in command of his mental faculties. The aggressive approach to life which was his trademark in his prime was still in evidence, as he insisted that his goal was to play in next year’s Open Championship at St. Andrews. Barely into his fifties, it would be fitting if his recovery led to a new lease of life in Seniors’ golf.  Welcome back, Severiano Ballesteros
