Congratulations to Cabell Robinson
Posted November 10th, 2009 by adminCabell was European director for Robert Trent Jones for 17 years, before branching out on his own in the eighties. During that time, he honed his skills with major involvement in Trent Jones courses, including Valderrama, La Duquesa, Marbella Golf and Mijas International. His first venture locally was the first La Cala course, where he had to master the most difficult terrain imaginable. He went on to design the other two La Cala courses, before enjoying a little respite, working with the relatively easy terrain at Santana, which is now reckoned by many to be the best course east of Marbella. But everything he has done before pailed in the glow of the magnificent Finca Cortesin course. Televison pictures, though spectacular, hardly did the course justice, although they did give an idea of the undulating nature of this piece of land set in the foothills of the nearby Sierras. Now that the world has seen what Cabell Robinson can do, the world should now be his oyster, as course developers from other continents queue for his services.
This will be great news for Cabell, as there is little scope on the Costa del Sol, which already has too many courses when supply is greater than demand.
