Not adios but hasta luego

Recent changes at Marbella Golf & CC with the return of Satu from maternity leave mean that the present incumbent, David Steele, has left the club by mutual consent. Those of you who are regulars on the coast may recall David’s valiant attempt to gain entry into the Guinness Book of Records by completing the record number of holes completed in twenty four hours. David managed 700+ and only fell short by a handful. Under his stewardship Marbella Golf & CC has become more ‘user friendly’ and now welcomes visiting golfers, not only members, with open arms. He has also overseen the restructuring of several holes on the course which has now been successfully completed. We wish him well in his future ventures. For those of you who haven’t tried the new layout it is well worth a visit. Please contact Paul or Julie at Golf Leisure Breaks for the best price.

So i’m observing the US Open these days and I was incredibly impressed with the way that Phil Mickelson played his round of golf. He shot an outstanding round of -5 under par, to finish day two at -1 par. The man he is chasing down for the number one world ranking, Tiger Woods, didn’t have anywhere as amazing a round, but still played good and shot a round of +1, to finish his second round at +4. It will probably be pretty a tournament over the remaing two days, and I wonder if Tiger can restore his form and capture his 15 major championship or will this be Phil Mickelson’s time to finally win a US Open- I guess we will need to wait and see how this will conclude. On a side note, once again, Ian Poulter had on a rather uncommon pair of golf trousers. He is without a doubt one of golf’s most enjoyable celebrities.
