Here comes summer!!

Contrary to reports from some meteorological sources, the 2010 summer has not been cancelled, although it has been somewhat late arriving. From a resident golfer’s point of view, summer is especially welcome on the coast, bringing as it does some affordable golf.

Temperatures may go sky-high, but for those who live and work here, enabling them to acclimatise gradually, tolerating the heat is a small price to pay for the chance to be able to play two or three times a week.
Having enjoyed summer golf here for the past 26 years, I can vouch for the fact that playing golf in a windscreen-less buggy is as good a way of coping with the heat as any, provided golfers are well prepared. Plenty of water (save the alcoholic beverages for the 19th. hole), a wide brimmed hat and a liberal helping of sun-block can ensure an enjoyable round. Many of our courses will be including shared buggies in a very reasonable green-fee, starting in the middle of May. For details of the best deals, call Julie or Paul on 952 582 943.
