Serious summer golf

Aside from some great green fee and buggy offers on the Costa del Sol this summer, several courses hold a     series of regular ‘Open Tournaments’ designed to appeal to the more competitive golfer. For the price of a normal green fee golfers have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes with a cocktail presentation included. In fact it is a good reason to play some of the more exclusive courses which are normally the domain of members, guests and have limited public starting times. Universally acknowledged as being included in this grouping the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas on August 21st and 22nd is holding a scratch and simultaneous medal tournament over 36 holes. The price for two rounds of golf is 150€ for adults  (well below the normal public price of 165€ per round) and only 50€ for juniors. This might be an early Christmas present your son or daughter will recall for years to come? For those of you that haven’t had the opportunity to play the Robert Trent Jones design yet this is your chance to follow in the footsteps of Jack Nicklaus and Johnny Miller who represented the US in the World Cup and, the Spanish Open a few years later, which was won by Nick Faldo.

A regular collaborator of this page, Golf Leisure Breaks, has been running some ‘serious’ golf competitions throughout the summer and is very pleased to announce that it is returning to one of its venues – El Chaparral Golf – on August 13th. Please see their ad on this page for further details.
